Slay the Dragon

Well let us go on with our study of Isaiah. It has been great going verse by verse. Lately it seems we have had a great time on discussions surrounding our text, bringing about some great insight. We have been in Isaiah 27 for about the third week. I had something jump out at me at my last study, which backs us up a few verses to the end of verse one of Isaiah 27. The statement he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea. The New King James verson says reptile in the sea. My thoughts are, just as we have the God Head three in one, so we see three here leviathan, the serpent, and the dragon. We find the serpent in the garden with Adam and Eve. We find leviathan in Job and Psalms. We find the dragon coming out of the sea with seven heads and ten horns in Revelation 13. It would seem the dragon has a certain purpose. In Revelation twelve he is trying to devour the authority of God that will shepherd the nations. It would seem this manifestation of satan is out to always devour the bringing forth of God’s authority in the earth. He is as a roaring lion walking about seeking whom he may devour. Our text in Isaiah says the Lord will punish the serpent and leviathan, but slay the dragon in the sea. Let us view it from this thought of the victory we have in Christ. (For in Him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And you are complete in Him which is the Head of all principality and power: in whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision Christ: buried with Him in baptism, where also you are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has he made alive with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, nailing it to His cross; and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.) Colossians 2:9-15. The good news is Jesus slew the dragon for those who chose to relate with His victory seating them in heavenly places with Him, for whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world. Jesus said be of good cheer I have overcome the world. Let us all take up the sword of the Spirit with the whole armour of God and slay some dragons in our land. TOUCH FROM HIS COALS

(Woe is me, for I am undone! because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of host.) Then one of the seraphims flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with tongs from the altar, and he touched my mouth with it, and said: Behold, this has touched your lips: your iniquity is taken away, and sin purged. Isaiah 6:5-7 When any of us has the true glory of God revealed to us, it is a life changing experience. If our lives have not been changed by the Lord, it is that we have not come face to face with His glory, and saw how undone we are, and how are words are far from grace and life. Isaiah lived in a time before the shed blood of Jesus. He saw His glory in this vision, but was not on the side of the blood redemption. It was revealed to him this glory was for us to be revealed by the preaching of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus our Lord. Now by the Holy Spirit we behold His glory as we read revelation of Him in His word. It is beholding that glory we are changed like Isaiah was from glory to glory by the Spirit of God. The true coals of today are from Him (Jesus) He puts us inside His Spirit and Fire. For His coming to His temple (His people) is a working of washing and burning. The washing of truth to wash away the lies and stains of the world, and His fire to refine us into HIS image. Being like Jesus is the plan of God. His fire is touching our lips cleansing our iniquity to give us a boldness to Go for God. He promised to purify Him a people with zeal for good works. For He indeed is working to will and do of His good pleasure in us. WORK ON JESUS!!!!
